Let’s learn to cook mouth watering dishes handed down to me through the oral and practical tradition of the Martínez Chávez family kitchen. The recipes have been adapted to be made in a classroom setting and simplified so students can acquire the necessary cooking skills to take to college once they graduate. From salads and soups to stews and finger foods, these recipes awaken people’s palates to the true range of Mexican cooking. My family’s dishes will be part of the students’ tradition!
