SUMMER 2023: This planet-friendly class focuses on changing clothing by adding or cutting elements of garments rather than buying new clothes.

Let’s save some money and clean our closets! This planet-friendly class focuses on changing clothing by adding or cutting elements of garments rather than buying new clothes. Students are required to bring old clothes they might want to change, revive, and upcycle. Students will learn to embroider, tie-dye, hand paint, and use trims and embellishments on used garments. Students will also learn to alter their own clothing by learning to shorten/lengthen a garment, put buttons on a shirt, and to replace a zipper. This class includes a field trip to the thrift store. This class requires students to bring their own portable sewing machine.
