This dungeon delving week will be filled with adventure and creative fantasy! Throughout the week we will use reference guides and published materials to create characters that increase in power and complexity as the week goes on. Students will have the opportunity to bring their own ideas and stories into a shared narrative experience in a fantasy world where just about anything is possible. Dungeons and Dragons provides an arena for young minds to experiment with normally anxiety producing social scenarios, work with a team to figure out how to problem solve a challenging social or intrigue-based moment and explore the consequences of their actions in a low-risk environment that just feels like fun. Students will take a break between a morning and afternoon gaming session to use art, design, and creative writing skills to build an engaging and functional backstory for their character or engage in world building of their own. This activity is perfect for experienced or brand new players.
