TECHNICAL/MATERIALS REQUIREMENTS: Pencil, paper, ballpoint or felt pen, eraser, and ruler. Markers, colored pencils, and sketchbook are encouraged but not required.

This class focuses on the basics of creating comics. We will look at single-panel comics like “The Far Side,” four-panel strips like “Calvin and Hobbes” and “Peanuts,” diary comics, and even poetry comics. We will find inspiration from cartoonists such as: Bill Watterson, Charles Schulz, Lynda Barry, Roz Chaz, Laura Park, Trinidad Escobar, and more!
Students will find a narrative that best fits their needs to create comics that is unique, and out of this world. Can’t draw? Nonsense! You can, and I’ll show you how!
