Neurodiversity arguably is more prevalent on television and in the movies than at any other time in history. Whether it be out of a sense of equality, the recognition of the richness of material such characters can generate, or more neurodivergent thinkers being in positions of influence in the entertainment industry, it’s clear that some of the most recognizable and beloved fictional characters can be described as being twice-exceptional. So which famous but fictional 2e character are you? We input the traits of some famous characters who have been described — either “officially” by producers, writers, or showrunners, or “unofficially” by fans, critics, and communities — as being gifted while also being challenged with an exceptionality such as ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, Asperger’s/ASD, borderline personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, oppositional-defiant, and others.
