Standardized Testing and Executive Function Deficits

Learners with executive functioning deficits can encounter challenges when taking standardized tests and cognitive assessments. And while there is ongoing discussions among states, municipalities, and institutions of higher education regarding the value of some standardized tests, the majority of high school students still need to provide SAT or ACT scores when applying to colleges. 2e News talks with executive functioning coach Seth Perler about how students with executive functioning challenges can approach these tests — including the role a healthy, well-rested body can play in achieving testing success.
