Barbara Jackson Gilman writes about gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) children from a perspective of compassion and understanding that stems from her professional and personal experiences. Gilman is associate director of the Gifted Development Center in Denver, Colorado, where she assesses gifted children — many with learning disabilities and underachievement issues — and offers guidance to parents and school personnel on ways to meet the learning needs of these children.
