ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — When encountering a twice-exceptional student, educators most often turn to gifted teachers or specialists for answers.
That’s according to survey results shared by Dr. Susan Assouline in a preconvention session at the 2019 National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) in Albuquerque. The session, entitled “Successful Education Outcome Strategies for Twice-Exceptional Students,” focused on identification of and intervention for 2e students. It was led by Drs. Assouline, Megan Foley Nicpon, and Alissa Doobay of the Belin-Blank Center at the University of Iowa, and Dr. Susan Baum of the Bridges 2e Center for Research and Professional Development.
