MORE ON THE TEEN CLIMATE ACTIVIST. Last week we posted about the young woman who traveled from Scandinavia to New York to address a climate conference. Since her arrival, she’s opened up about her cause and her Asperger’s and the link between the two, calling being different her superpower. What’s also very interesting in her comments are the positive effects to her life she attributes to finding a cause. “Before I started school striking I had no energy, no friends and I didn’t speak to anyone. I just sat alone at home, with an eating disorder. All of that is gone now, since I have found a meaning, in a world that sometimes seems meaningless to so many people.” Wow! Read more.
LD IN COLLEGE. Edutopia offers an article titled “Helping Students with Disabilities Understand Accommodations in College.” One thing to tell your student: “Let them know that the accommodations process is typically very easy in college— often much easier than in high school.” Find the article.

2019 DAVIDSON FELLOWS. The names of the talented young people named as Davidson Fellows for 2019 have been released. The Fellows will be honored in Washington, D.C., with an evening reception on September 27 at one of the Smithsonian Museums. See the faces and accomplishments of these young people.
