GHF ON 2e. The most recent newsletter from the Gifted Homeschoolers Forum contains an article on 2e kids, with an emphasis on 2e kids in Australia. The author uses Venn diagrams to illustrate and differentiate four groups, one of which is 2e, and also highlights many of the barriers 2e students face to receiving a good education in a non-homeschool setting. — Diet, depression, anxiety. Research indicates the “Mediterranean Diet” can relieve symptoms of depression and anxiety. Find a research write-up. (Oddly, the write-up is at a site called “popsugar.”)
— DBS effectiveness. Deep brain stimulation is used for a variety of conditions, including treatment-resistant depression, but it often doesn’t work. Newswise says, “Now, a study from researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis may help explain why the effects of deep-brain stimulation can vary so much – and points the way toward improving the treatment. ” Find the study write-up.
