“SUGAR HIGH.” A New York Times piece by a physician in the Ask Well section says the sugar high theory is a myth that’s been debunked, citing apparently rigorous research in support. Find the article, then think about food dyes instead. (And read what the Mayo Clinic says.) And, as always, remember the Scandinavian saying: “If the map and the terrain disagree, believe the terrain.”

TILT PARENTING’S newest podcast is on auditory processing disorders, featuring Donna Geffner. Debbie Reber says the podcast covers “what audio processing disorder is, how to recognize it in kids, why it is often misdiagnosed, as well the best support and accommodation practices for school and home.” Find the podcast.

CLAY CENTER FOR HEALTHY MINDS. This organization has released a podcast on nature versus nurture when it comes to mental health. The podcast addresses questions such as: “How much does our environment influence our lives and compete with our genes? What are the biggest protective factors against mental health issues, regardless of what we’re born with?” Find it.
