WELL, in today’s post every single item is about what’s been on everyone’s minds. Each of these items, however, has a slant making it relevant to our 2e community.

FROM BELIN-BLANK, a resource titled “Suddenly Homeschooling: Resources for Parents of Gifted Children.” Find them. The Center has also posted an article titled “Social and Emotional Support for Gifted Learners during Covid-19.” Find it.

LDA. The Learning Disabilities Association of America has an interview on its site about remote learning for college students with learning disabilities. According to the association’s webside, “LDA interviewed LDA Board Member, Manju Banerjee, PhD, Vice President of Educational Research and Innovation at Landmark College in Vermont and an expert on college students with disabilities, on how this move to remote learning may affect college students with learning disabilities.” Find the interview.

ALSO FROM LDA. We posted a request from LDA for advocacy support regarding IDEA rights during school closures. The particular proposal LDA opposed has been taken off the table by the U.S. Department of Education, according to LDA, and it credits those who reached out to senators or congressional representatives. BRAIN AND BEHAVIOR RESEARCH FOUNDATION. This group has scheduled a webinar for March 31, “How to Stay Mentally Healthy During the Covid-19 Epidemic.” More information.

ROSS GREEN BROADCAST. Debbie Reber pointed us to an upcoming online program on March 27 at 12 ET with Ross Greene. The program’s blurb states: “Collaboration and empathy have never been more important. But let’s get practical: school is closed, your kids are home, and you need some guidance! Listen in on this special edition of Parenting Your Challenging Child!” More information.

SUMMIT CENTER is offering fee-based online parent support groups called “Surviving the Shutdown: Online Support Group for Parents of Gifted and/or 2e Children and Teens.” These sessions start on March 30. More information. Additionally, Summit Center is waiving the usual fees on all of its webinars. The organization says, “ALL of our webinars available on demand free on Vimeo for the next 30 days. AND FINALLY, Jen the Blogger (“Laughing at Chaos”) writes “How do you laugh at this magnitude of chaos?” Get her take on “the new normal.”
