TEEN CLIMATE ACTIVIST… AND ASPIE. A 16yo Swedish woman who has inspired other young people to take a stand on climate change has arrived in New York prior to addressing the United Nations Climate Action Summit in September. Coverage of the arrival notes that she identifies as having Asperger’s and had suffered from “crippling depression” earlier in her life. SMART KIDS WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES offers a new article, “Treating Boys with ADHD.” A synopsis of the article: “Traditional talk therapy and social skills groups rarely work for boys with ADHD. The better option is to seek out ADHD clinicians and coaches who understand gender-based differences and have experience working with young males.” Find the article.

PARENT RESOURCE. The organization Twice Exceptional Children’s Advocacy has released its schedule for fall online parent support group sessions. The group, according to TECA, “offers family members the chance to learn and share strategies for parenting our uniquely gifted 2e kids.” Learn more.
