PARENT ADVOCACY. Parents of dyslexic children in Arkansas waged “curriculum war” with the education establishment — and won, according to an article at Education Week. The results? Pretty good. “In Arkansas, lawmakers have passed at least eight laws in the past seven years. The state is changing everything, including dyslexia screening, reading instruction, and teacher training and licensing. It hopes to have all the pieces in place by the 2021-2022 school year.” Read more at Education Week, assuming you haven’t used up your article quota for the month.
