Susan Baum and Robin Schader to appear on Crucial Conversations starting May 10

According to Dr. Susan Baum, the key to overcoming challenges and growing confidence is to encourage students to build from their strengths and develop expertise.
Baum, along with her colleagues, Dr. Robin Shader and Dr. Steven Owen, wrote the seminal book on 2e education,

Crucial Conversations About Cognitive Diversity will webcast Baum and Shader’s interview with Maria Kennedy. They will explore the foundational ideas around strength-based learning and how to apply those ideas effectively in schools and with individual students. As the success of these techniques in Bridges Academy, and many other schools around the world, confirm, the best way to bring out the best in 2e students is by focusing on what works.

Susan Baum, currently the
Director of the 2e Center for Research and Professional Development, has served on the Board of Directors of the National Association for Gifted Students (NAGC) and was a president and founder of the Association for the Education of Gifted Underachieving Students (AEGUS). She has co-authored
Multiple Intelligences in the Elementary Classroom: A Teacher’s Toolkit in consultation with Howard Gardner.
Robin Shader, currently a trustee of Bridges Academy, also serves on the executive board of the 2e Center for Research and Professional Development. She was the Parent Resource Advisor for the National Association for Gifted Children and the founder and director of Music House, a home away from home for exceptionally talented music students.
Maria Kennedy, the host of Crucial Conversations, is the director of the Bridges Educational Group. Having received her education in Manchester, England, Maria has been a 2e advocate for three decades, developing curriculum and training teachers to tap into the strengths of their gifted and challenged students.
